On September 27, 2020 Ocean Protocol Foundation initiated a hard fork of the Ocean Token contract.
All Ocean token balances from the previous 0x7AF token contract are reflected on Ocean token contract 0x967.
Etherscan has recognized the new contract and wallet balances can be verified on Etherscan’s website.
To see and use the new Ocean tokens in your wallet, you may need to take some actions.
- If you just want to hold your tokens, there is nothing to do. You can wait for wallet providers to update their software. In some wallets OCEAN appears twice (Coinbase Wallet), while in some wallets new OCEAN is not shown (Ledger Live). This is purely cosmetic and has no influence on your tokens — rest assured your Ocean tokens are in your wallet.
- If you want to transact with the new OCEAN right now, you need to use a tool on top of your wallet, like MEW or MetaMask. With the tool, you can add the new OCEAN as a custom token with the new contract address. For example, if you use a Ledger hardware wallet, you can connect it to MetaMask to see the new OCEAN token and conduct transaction. Note that doing so will not enable you to see the new OCEAN in Ledger Live.
- NO ACTION is required, if you left your tokens on an exchange. We will coordinate with exchanges to update the contract address. Deposits and withdrawals will be re-activated in the next days and trading should not be affected.
